SWL

We would like to make a list of the Short Wave Listners

that tune into the Black Sheep Lounge

and place them on this page, that way we can say

                                      Howdy from time to time,

                               send your info to w4oae@yahoo.com

Hello to all in the BSL.  I am still hanging in there as one of your oldest, and most loyal SWL.  Band conditions have been unually bad for me in this past year, but I catch a snippet of wisdom from the members when I can.  Hope you all have a good summer.  Keep on truckin'.

Two years ago my Dad, now 86, sold his house, tax poor up in north Jersey, and gave me all his ham gear. A National HRO 60 w/all factory coils in a case, mint, two Johnson Viking II'S, one built, and one new kit, from 1953, Drake R4-B. Got my license at 60 yrs old in Feb. A beginner and learning a lot from just listening! I listen to you folks and also 3.919 all night, FUN!! The kit is daunting, to say the least. It is all there, 53 years old. Hundreds of hours of work here, hundreds (thousands?) of parts in hardware for a new (old) AM rig. But I hear these old Viking II's are pretty clean AM rigs ::::Thanks for the enjoyment of countless hours in listening to you experts, while I study for my General ticket! John B. KI4NLM

Gentlemen:

And I use the term loosely so you can tell that I really do listen to you all on 3933.  I have been listening to you for quite a few years.  I listen usually every night.

You have a good group and it sounds like you are having a lot of fun.

I rebuild antique radios and boat anchors.  I have a sprinkling of all the major manufacturers.  I have quite a few receivers but no transmitters other than internal house transmitters.

I am in Glens Falls, New York and you all come in loud and clear.

One of my favorite listens is when the group had set their normal banter aside to allow a breaker in to discuss his signal.  I specifically remember Chuck (N1MIT) sort of leading the discussion on this one.  By the time you guy’s got through with him, you had come to a unanimous decision that the only equipment he had in his shack

That was any good, was the coax line from his antenna to his transceiver.  He was a good sport about it too…

Keep up the good work and continue to enjoy yourself…

Tom Burke

Hey all lounge geeks ! Just wanted to let y’all know I listen just about every night. My wife hates when you guys crack me up and I wake her up. Hope all is well with all you guys, Dog we are prayin for ya. Josh and Lynne Everett Bowdon Georgia

     Hello Eric...

Name here is Woody - KF4GSK. Just a short note to let you know that I really enjoy listening to you guys on 3.933. I often have trouble sleeping through the night and you are a great gang to listen to during my non sleep time. I would jump in from time to time but can only produce 100 watts at the present , and you probably would have trouble with my signal. In any event, keep up the great chat as it is good therapy for me.

73, Woody

I am a SWL and am listening to you write now on the shortwave. I live in Ohio and you sound marvelous here. I just love listening to you guys. You are always talking about the most interesting things. Your audio is awesome also. Keep being as entertaining as you all are and I'll keep listening. You would make my day if you mentioned this on the air right now that some shortwave listener emailed you.

Thanks DOG for mentioning my email on the air. That was neat. You did make my day. I have been an SWL for many years and I have gotten bored listening to International Broadcasts so have been tuning the ham bands. When I found you guys on 3.933, it was just so interesting and entertaining that I have become a regular listener. I use an Icom R-75 and when the band is not so busy I use my 6KC wide filter to listen to you guys and the audio from some of you is just fantastic. (yours especially) Brother Bill was sounding pretty good last night too. Again thanks for mentioning my email and I will continue listening in. I am in Ashtabula County in the NE corner of Ohio.

Hey Guys,:: I just wanted to say HI. Listened the other night for the first time in months. It was late and I was too lazy to fire up the amp so nobody heard me barefoot.::I sure do miss getting on late at night but the late hours at work and getting up at 6 every morning took their toll on me. I'll jump back in one night soon. GLAD I heard about this web site. I was listening a year or so ago the night when everyone was looking to see what domain names were available. I like this one. Page is very well done! Still not enough pictures though. I need to look and see if you have instructions on how to donate to the site. If you do I will::Talk to everyone soon... I hope!!!::73::Bucky KM4EZ

Some of those links at the end don't work, the hillbillyrepater for example and the one with the two callsigns doesn't work either.
